This is a rare green tea grown on the slopes of the Taimu Mountains in the Fujian Province in China.  Grown on rocky cliffs at such high altitudes it was once thought it could only be picked by monkeys.  White Monkey Pekoe is a mixture of young leaves and unopened buds that are covered with a beautiful white down. They are gathered and processed entirely by hand.

Our White Monkey Pekoe brews up a light greenish gold, with a sweet and toasty aroma. It’s light-bodied with a rich, sweet, vegetal flavor reminiscent of raw sugar cane.
