Ceylon is the former name of the island nation Sri Lanka, located just off the southeastern coast of India. The name of the country was changed in 1972 but the teas are still known as Ceylon's.

The Dimbula region is undoubtedly the most well known tea producing region in Sri Lanka. It is uniquely situated such that the cold winds that blow throughout the nights and the clear blue skies experienced during the day create biological changes in the tea bushes, yielding larger than average leaves. This gives Dimbula tea a distinct flavor found nowhere else in the world.
